Bob and Rachel:
Greetings from BAF again! THANK YOU so much for the packages --they are coming in fast and furious and Commons Chapel is being kept ready to serve the camp here. All you all do is great. By the way, did you receive a certificate from us?
I am writing to request a HUGE favor. The chapel is desparately in need of commercial-grade carpet...and a durable vacuum. So far, our attempts to order it throught Army supply channels have failed...probably due to the fact that we already have carpet and a vacuum! The carpet we have now is about the cheapest you can get and is already worn out though it is only a couple months old. As you can imagine, we get a tremendous amount of foot traffic in our small space.
I realize this is an unusal, considerable request and perhaps a bridge too far --but I figured it was worth asking 
If you find donors and funding, any brand of commercial-grade carpet would be fine.
The dimensions of the chapel are roughly 24.5 ft X 17.5 ft = 428.75 so about 430 sq. ft total.
The vacuum we are looking at is the “Oreck Halo” for its dust-mite killing properties.
Again, thanks for considering our solicitiation. I know beggars can’t be choosers and you all have done and are doing SO much for us already --please do not feel bad for saying no!
