troop letter: JIDC Chaplain Assistant
June 14, 2009
Hello Bob,
I know Ryan gave you my email, but I wasn’t sure if he told you anything
about me.
I am the JIDC Chaplain Assistant (which is a real job in the
military). I am 21 years old, completed two years of a classical
college education, and enjoy working with people. My office is what I
think of as a ‘general store’, as care packages that come in I sort and
stock the shelves of my office so our personnel can come in and grab
what they’d like (hygiene items, snacks, books, etc). Your organization
is so very generous, and I am amazed at how there are so many supporters
in the USA, but they themselves aren’t recognized. The news focuses on
so much negativity when there are so many positive people around.
Anyway, I do have a wish list for you.
Any sort of snacks
Nuts
Chips
Granola Bars
Candy (though chocolate candies have a tendency to melt
nowadays)
Honestly, whatever is sent will be eaten…
Water balloons/ Water guns (we are going to try to have a water fight on
the 4th of July for morale)
Calling Cards
Shaving Cream/Gel
Smoothie Mixes (Some companies have pre-made mixes that are like a
gel… I don’t know if they would ship well)
Anything you could send would be awesome. Again, I want to thank you
for your support.
SGT Jennifer
JIDC Chaplain Assistant
