Although we could not be with family for this holiday we were able to
make the most of our day.
Started the day playing Ultimate Football:
just like Ultimate Frisbee but with a football instead. Navy beat the
Army Brigade team 7-6 in our first game of the day but ended up losing
to a team of Army Artillery folks in the championship game. We played
up on the Afghan army parade ground so we had plenty of fans to watch
us. Our food contractors went way above and beyond for our dinner: ran
from 1230 till 1630 with almost everything you could think of to eat.
We ended the evening by having the Afghan Army Brigade General and the
Afghan Garrison Col along with some of their staffs over for a late
dinner. Think they enjoyed our food and watching a bit of American
Football. I’ve attached the “turkey bowl” results.
