troop letter: MC1 Christine

November 14, 2008

Mr. Williams,

I wanted to write and apologize – I had misplaced your letter dated Oct. 14th. It had fallen into an empty box I had put up for storage.

When I went to empty the box out today I found your letter. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

I appreciate that Rick Bain gave you my name, address to contact.  I am the regiment’s public affairs officer so I get to meet a lot of people here on base and out and about.

1) I have a request in with the Chaplain’s office to see if there are specific needs here.  2) I have also been working with the Army Corps of Engineers on Al Asad to help them publicize five new schools they are building.  The Army Corps said each school will enroll 80 children. (I have attached their last newsletter so you can see results from their last school project) 3) And we have Marine, Army and Navy Seabees scattered throughout the al-Anbar province (Western Iraq) building Combat Outposts, Floating Bridges and conducting road repairs.  Let me know which group you would like to support.  I can work on the lists once I find out what you have in mind.

I have also attached our latest family gram so you can see a few of us here at the regiment.

The Regiment has roughly 100 people from Al Asad to Kuwait, 10 of those are female.  We plan to be here until early Spring 2009.

I look forward to hearing from you.

V/r,

MC1 Christine
