another fantastic shipment of pure joy
Sir Bob,
Thanks again for another fantastic shipment of pure joy. I want you to
know that the contents of your packages have been shared with not only
the folks in our office but throughout Southern Afghanistan. We have an
office in our building that handles “Forward Ordering Officers” (FOOs)
and whatever we don’t take from the shipments we offer to the guys that
come in from the field to clear funds. It’s turned out to be a great
way to get folks that don’t have much available to them some of your
generosity. Thank you from ALL of us!
You had inquired before if there were any items that we’d like to add to
our “wish list”. Below is a list of some items that are either
requested or needed.
- thumbtacks, pushpins
- standard sized staples
- legal pads
- post it notes
- everybody loves the tobacco (only some many vices available out here)
however we are well stocked from your earlier shipments : )
- although we did have another unit request one of those small
humidors like you sent earlier
- individual drink mixes (kind you can drop into a single bottle of
water)
- toiletries are always gone in a flash
- 2010 calendars
- wipeys
- canned air (for blowing the dust out of computers and ac/heating
units)
- in shell salted peanuts
- phone cards (our guys are using their own money to buy phone cards to
call vendors back home when we don’t have a DSN operator nearby to patch
us through)
Those are just a few things that we could use. We are certainly
grateful for what you have already done for us and would continue to be
if we never saw another box. Thanks again for all you are doing for us
and all our forces you are helping with your generosity.
Wishing you a happy holiday season!
v/r,
James
